The district’s internet connection is through Wayne RESA and their main internet connection experienced an outage earlier today. Their system failed over to a backup internet connection and we are still operating on that connection as are other Wayne county school districts. The root problem has been identified as a fiber optic cable issue in Southfield and the service provider is on the scene working to resolve the issue.

Wayne RESA has shared that we may notice bandwidth speed reductions as well as some intermittent problems with connections that are susceptible to connectivity inconsistencies such as Zoom meetings. They/we are experiencing some packet loss over their backup connection, unrelated to bandwidth, and they are working with the State Education Network (MiSEN) service providers to diagnose them. All of us may experience or continue to experience possible slowness with our district internet connection until these issues are resolved.
