UPDATE: Amazon has resolved all of the issues that impacted our Canvas usage. Canvas should work as expected at this point. Please log out and back in if you are still experiencing problems at this point.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is currently experiencing an outage that is affecting some Canvas users hosted in the (North American) region which includes us. Canvas’ status page https://status.instructure.com/ was updated at 10:58 am with this notice and that they are investigating the issue. 

Amazon reports at 11:01: We have identified the root cause of the Internet connectivity to the US-WEST-1 Region and have taken steps to restore connectivity. We have seen some improvement to Internet connectivity in the last few minutes but continue to work towards full recovery.
